  • Anchovy paste: This ingredient adds a depth of umami flavor to the Caesar dressing. If you're not a fan, you can substitute with a small amount of soy sauce or simply omit it for a milder flavor.

Test Kitchen Notes

  • Broccoli Charring: Make sure to spread the broccoli in a single layer on the baking sheet for even charring. Don’t overcrowd the pan, as this can lead to steaming rather than roasting.

Toasted Panko: Keep an eye on the panko breadcrumbs while toasting them, as they can burn quickly. Stir frequently to ensure even browning.

Prepping Broccoli: For an extra crispy texture, you can toss the broccoli in a bit more olive oil and a pinch of salt before roasting. This helps enhance the caramelization and adds more flavor.

Dressing Consistency: If the Caesar dressing is too thick after chilling, you can thin it out with a bit of milk or additional lemon juice to reach your desired consistency.

Serving Suggestions: This dish works wonderfully as a main or a side. For a heartier meal, serve it with grilled chicken or alongside a warm quinoa salad. It also pairs well with crusty bread or garlic toast.
